An Elegant Barn Wedding At The Hitching Post in Dayton, Maine

We started off the day with the finishing touches of Zoe getting ready at a Portland Air BnB. For detail photos I wanted to tie into the theme of the barn reception. A light wood background was the perfect touch of rustic for her colorful detail suite. Zoe’s mom then put her pearl necklace on her. The necklace was passed down by Zoe’s grandmother and this was her first time getting to wear the special family heirloom.

Off to the ceremony we went. Church ceremonies are one of my favorites. I love hearing hearing and learning about the traditions that are important to my couples. This helps me in knowing exactly what key moments to capture for them to look back on. From a simple ceremony to a full Catholic mass - all of them are so beautiful and unique. This stunning white marble cathedral was definitely one of my favorites from this season.

After the ceremony we traveled to Cape Elizabeth, Maine for family formals, bridal party, and portraits of the bride and groom. It provided the perfect ocean breeze on this hot Summer day. Then it was off to our final stop - the Hitching Post of Maine for their wedding celebration.

When we arrived I headed inside to grab some details of the space. Zoe did all of the floral decor herself and I was amazed! Balanced, colorful, and simply gorgeous. I told her to let me know when she becomes a florist! Everyone ate, we danced, and the night flowed perfectly. We ended with Zoe and William getting cozy in the golden setting sun. The perfect wedding day. Congratulations again Zoe and William!
